SUMMIT OVERVIEW
“Influencing global trade dynamics through sustainable gas & LNG project development”
Africa is estimated to currently hold nearly 74 trillion m3 of recoverable natural gas reserves which accounts to about 10% of the world’s total, according to the International Energy Agency. Yet there still more of Africa’s resources to be uncovered. The continent and it’s new and under developed reserves have become the focus of the energy hungry nations due to inevitable changes in economic, political and industrial activity. Neoedge fully aware of these dynamics brings its most sought after “5th Annual Africa Gas & LNG Summit” to Dar es Salaam Tanzania, from the 1st – 4th of September 2014.
East Africa was a less active market in the natural gas industry till last year. Forbes indicates that 2 of the top 10 discoveries of 2013 to be in Mozambique and Tanzania. Each country of concern is actively reforming their regulation to support the capacity and the nature of the impending world scale LNG projects. Economic growth through joining the LNG bandwagon at the fastest pace is their motive. The countries need infrastructure development, human talent development, legal services, consultants, engineering procurement and construction contractors, financiers, power generation companies, and project developers to kick start this progress.
The conference focuses on sustainable development which would be economically beneficial to the region, investors and its service providers considering the strategic location, regulation reform, local content development, planned channelled investments in project development, environmental and host community impact, gas/LNG to power project development, competitive gas/LNG pricing and safe and secure development and supply of LNG and Natural gas.
