Fuel Management and Energy Mix in the age of Global Warming

- Master the essentials of global markets for oil, gas, coal and renewable to strategize your fuel purchase and energy management

The focus of this Master Class will be on fossil fuel selection, purchasing and energy mix: natural gas (pipeline and LNG), coal, fuel oils and renewable energy. The geographic focus will be Central America, South America and Caribbean. Experience from North America, Europe and Asia will be drawn upon whenever needed. Principals and techniques covered will be applicable to utilities, IPPs, large industrial fuel users such as cement and chemical plants etc.

The Course will span a broad range of issues from the primary factors driving global fossil fuel markets and national energy security to the details of relevant provisions in fuel and energy purchase contracts. Contracted provision language will be drawn from a library of over 300 international fuel contracts. The rising impact on fuel markets of renewable and environmental concerns will be a major theme throughout the course.

Attending Benefit

For Fuel Suppliers (Fossil and Renewable)

This course focuses primarily on how international and domestic fossil fuel markets will adjust to competition from renewables and how fuel contracts must adjust to cope with more rigorous environmental requirements. Dr. Manfred Raschke has worked on energy projects, both in North America and globally since 1980. As well he has experience with CO2 markets in Europe and with carbon separation and storage projects.

For Companies with substantial amount of fuel and energy usage

Many industries use fossil fuel as primary means of energy generation in their production/ manufacturing process. Learn how you can streamline your decision making process, and garner substantial saving on your fuel cost and stay ahead of environmental trends.

For Electric Company Executives

IPPs and Utilities utilize large amount of fuel to meet the rising energy demand inLatin America. This course covers every relevant aspect of your undertakings on Fuel Management: We will also compare the usage of conventional fuels and their renewable counterpart. All key contracts, the comparative experience distilled from more than 50 countries worldwide.

For Ministry Officials and Energy Regulators

This course covers select aspect confronting Ministry and Country Energy Regulators, Fuel Supply Security, regulatory incentives, and new environmental rules.

For Bank and Financial Institutions

This course will facilitate risk management understanding by laying out the factors which cause fuel price volatility and supply uncertainty as well as the uncertainties for project operations arising from the introduction of renewable generation and the progressive tightening of environmental regulations.

For New Ventures

For entities evaluating entry into fuel supply business, but does not know what are its pitfalls and challenges, this course will present and dissect the business from conception to operationally ready state.
