This course introduces you to a variety of flow measurement technologies that are used in Custody Transfer applications, aiming to gain an in-depth understanding about how to achieve the requirements by means of Differential Pressure (DP) measurement, Turbine meters, Positive Displacement meters, Coriolis flow measurement, Magnetic and Ultrasonic flow measurement etc.

Learn from Internationally Renowned Expert
Dirk Horst has been involved in the instrumentation field since 1977, starting off as a technician and working his way up to an engineer position before progressing to be a trainer for Shell Global Solutions (Holland) and the National Training Institute inOman.
During his career spanning 39 years, he has been involved in several projects in India, Holland, Nigeria and Germany that includes:
- As an Instrument Trainer with the National Training Institute in Oman, setting a new training centre in Muscat for locals working in BP
- Engaged as a QMI trainer with Sakhalin Energy, instructing on Basic Instrumentation and Process Control. He also developed QMI competency profiles and new company unit standards as applied for regular assessments
- Doing a stint in the Harburg Refinery as the Senior Assistant QMI, he led a team of specialists in the engineering design, implementation and execution of QMI release, in-line blending project with a fully automated system resulted in a huge savings in the refinery
- Being the QMI Maintenance Engineer at Nigeria LNG plant, he oversaw the functioning of all installed analyser systems for 6 trains with the assistance of a team of technicians
- As a QMI start-up and commissioning engineer in Reliance Petroleum Refinery in India
