About Your Expert Trainer

Dr. Michael C S Wong is the founder of CT Risk Solutions, a risk consulting firm supporting more than 30 banks operating in Asia, and the founder of CTRISKS Rating, a SFC-licensed credit rating agency in Hong Kong. In 2003-2010, he architected many risk management systems for banks, including Basel-standard IRB systems and wealth management product due diligence systems.

Dr. Wong is a professor of City University of Hong Kong and a well-known risk expert in Asia. He served as a founding member of FRM Committee of Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) in 1998-2002 and helped develop the FRM examination to be a global standard on risk management education. He also served as an examiner of both Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) and Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) on exam papers relating to credit rating, wealth management, bank asset-liability management and credit risk management.

Dr. Wong provided risk management consulting to many clients, including Bank of Communications, HSBC, Bank of China (HK), Hang Seng Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, JP Morgan, China Banking Regulatory Commission, OCBC, Fubon Bank, ICBC, May Bank, Bank of India, Shinhan Bank and Citi Bank etc. Dr. Wong conducted executive workshops for chief risk officers, senior risk managers and bank regulators in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Macau, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia and so on.

Dr. Wong spent 7 years on investment banking, heading spot FX and metals trading, before his academic career. He graduated from University of Cambridge, University of Essex and Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Wong published 60+ journal articles, book chapters and books.
